Power Ratings
We get many emails about our NBA
power ratings. The Pres has revised our NBA power ratings to be very
simple to use. The higher the power rating, the better
the team. Follow these steps:
1. Determine the home team and the road team for the game. 2. Then add the home court
advantage of 3 points to the home team power rating. 3. Subtract the lower rating from the higher
rating (better team). This will give you our projected favorite and the Gridiron
Gold NBA power rating point spread or margin of victory. Of course,
this is utopia and other handicapping methods should be used in conjunction with
our NBA Power Ratings. If you're keeping power ratings, ratings should be
updated daily according to your power rating methodology.
Example: Boston 78 at Cleveland 77½
+ 3 for home court value. So Boston is at 78 and Cleveland is at 80½. Cleveland
80½ - Boston 78 means Cleveland is a Gridiron Gold NBA power ratings
favorite of 2½ points.
