New Jersey Devils over the Arizona Coyotes. The Devils' explosive offense of last season that featured 291 goals and a team record 112 points should be even more potent in 2023-2024. New Jersey has added winger Tyler Toffoli and defenseman Collin Meyer to its arsenal and the young guns on this squad -- Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier, Jesper Bratt, Dawson Mercer -- all under 25 years old, should improve on their breakout numbers. One of the NHL's youngest rosters, the Devils should benefit from another year of experience to improve on their second place finish in their Division. The Coyotes are almost as young as the Devils, but unlike their opponent this team is a long way away from being a Stanley Cup contender. They made plenty of moves in the off-season but the question is whether those changes will result in vast improvement or look more like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Arizona did rather well in their temporary home (Mullett Arena) but managed just seven wins on the road last season. Take the Devils.
