The Raiders look like a contender after adding All-Pro WR
Davante Adams and former Super Bowl-winning defensive end Chandler Jones to the
mix. It’s also Josh McDaniels’ return to head coaching duties.
On the other, the Jaguars’ lone season under Urban Meyer was an absolute disaster. Now, Doug Pederson has taken over and hopes to be the key to taking Trevor Lawrence’s game to the next level.
Having said that, don’t expect a high-scoring Hall of Fame
Game. This is the first game of the preseason, and the best players will be
sitting it out.
Fans hoping to see Davante Adams in a Raiders jersey might
have to wait a bit longer.
Here’s a look at the combined final score of the last 5
Hall of Fame Games.
2021: 19 - 2019: 24 - 2018: 33 2017: 38 2015: 17. The average combined total of those 5 games is only 26.2.

The Raiders and Jaguars averaged a combined 36.7 points per
game in 2021 and while that’s far from impressive, it’s a number that should be
much higher this year with the offensive improvements that both teams have
made.
The Hall of Fame Game is a tough contest to predict because
you never know who’s going to suit up and play.
Having said that, both Pederson and McDaniels are hungry to
prove what they can do in their coaching return. This might be a “meaningless”
game, but a victory can certainly boost a team’s morale.
Raiders vs. Jaguars Betting Trends – Interesting but
meaningless in preseason?
Las Vegas was 1-5 against the
spread (ATS) in six games as the favorite in 2021.

When the O/U line opened at 33 I was on the under. Yes ,
I’m expecting the total to hit the under 33 but the wise guys drove the line
down to 30 and it may be lower at game time. Also, the public drove the favored
Raiders line up to 2.5.
I don’t expect the trend to change, but I liked the O/U
much better at 33. The Jaguars’ players have more to prove. Wait until game
time and you may get more points.
